Skin Treatments
Calibrated for Indian Skin
From US FDA-cleared PicoSure® laser and Ultraform HIFU to medical dermatology and paediatric skin care — every treatment at Dinaaz is performed and calibrated personally by Dr. Nazia Iqbal MD Dermatologist. Not a spa. A clinical dermatology practice.
Ultraform HIFU — Non-Surgical Face & Neck Lift
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is the only non-surgical technology proven to reach the SMAS layer — the same fibromuscular layer tightened in a surgical facelift. At Dinaaz, the Ultraform HIFU system delivers precise focused ultrasound energy at three standard depths: 1.5mm (superficial dermis), 3mm (deep dermis) and 4.5mm (SMAS layer).
The thermal coagulation points created at each depth trigger the body's natural collagen and elastin regeneration response — producing a progressive lifting and tightening effect over 2–3 months that continues to improve for up to 6 months post-treatment. Unlike surgical alternatives, there is no anaesthesia, no incisions and minimal downtime.
What HIFU treats
PicoSure® Laser — Pigmentation, Acne Scars & Rejuvenation
PicoSure® (Cynosure, US FDA-cleared) delivers ultra-short picosecond (10⁻¹²s) pulses of 755nm laser energy. Unlike older nanosecond lasers that primarily work through a photothermal (heat) mechanism, PicoSure® creates a photomechanical (pressure wave) effect — shattering pigment particles and stimulating collagen without the thermal injury that causes post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) in darker Indian skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV–VI).
This makes PicoSure® one of the few laser platforms that can safely and effectively treat pigmentation, melasma, acne scars and skin laxity in Indian patients — when calibrated by a qualified dermatologist who understands Fitzpatrick skin parameters. Dr. Nazia personally calibrates all laser parameters based on your skin type and condition.
Conditions treated with PicoSure®
MNRF — Micro-Needling Radio Frequency
MNRF delivers radio frequency energy through insulated micro-needles into the dermis at precisely controlled depths — bypassing the epidermis entirely and targeting the dermal matrix where collagen and elastin reside. This makes it significantly safer for Indian skin than surface ablative lasers, with far less risk of PIH.
The RF energy creates controlled thermal coagulation zones that stimulate an intense collagen remodelling response over 3–6 months. For acne scars — rolling, boxcar and atrophic — MNRF disrupts the fibrotic scar architecture and replaces it with new collagen, improving skin texture and depth of scarring progressively with each session.

Diode Laser — Permanent Hair Reduction for Indian Skin
A medical-grade Diode laser (808nm or 940nm) selectively targets melanin in the hair follicle's bulge region. The laser energy is absorbed by the pigment, converted to heat, and destroys the follicle's ability to regenerate — achieving permanent hair reduction without damaging the surrounding skin.
Unlike salon-grade IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) which emits a broad, non-specific spectrum, the Diode laser's precise 808nm wavelength is optimally absorbed by melanin with minimal absorption by water in the surrounding tissue. This selectivity makes it safer and more effective for darker Indian skin tones where IPL commonly causes burning and hyperpigmentation.
PDO / COG Thread Lift — Facial Lifting Without Surgery
PDO (Polydioxanone) and COG thread lifts are minimally invasive procedures in which medical-grade absorbable threads are inserted under the skin using fine cannulas. COG threads have barbs that mechanically grip tissue for immediate lifting. PDO mono and screw threads stimulate collagen production, tightening and rejuvenating the skin even as they dissolve.
Unlike non-physician thread placements offered at some salons, thread lifts are physician-only procedures at Dinaaz — requiring precise anatomical knowledge of facial planes, nerve locations and vascular structures. Dr. Nazia is a Master Injector certified by the University of Sharjah and performs all thread procedures personally.
Pigmentation & Melasma — A Dermatologist's Approach
Pigmentation concerns — particularly melasma — are among the most prevalent and most commonly mismanaged skin conditions in Indian women. Over-the-counter creams that bleach and sensitise without treating the underlying cause, or laser treatments applied without understanding the skin type and melasma depth, frequently make the condition worse.
Dr. Nazia's approach is layered and evidence-based: correct diagnosis first (epidermal vs mixed vs dermal melasma), identification and elimination of triggers (sun exposure, hormones, OCPs), a prescribed topical protocol, staged chemical peels, and laser therapy with PicoSure® only when the skin is conditioned and stable. Managing Indian skin pigmentation is a months-long journey, not a one-session fix.
Conditions treated
Dr. Nazia holds MBBS and MD Dermatology. Her approach to pigmentation is based on clinical evidence and 11+ years of treating Indian skin types. She is the sole person who diagnoses and prescribes pigmentation protocols at Dinaaz — no automated assessments or unqualified aestheticians.
Wood's lamp, dermatoscopy, history and trigger assessment. Epidermal vs mixed vs dermal classification.
Sun protection protocol, OCP/hormone review, dietary advice. Foundation of any pigmentation management.
Prescribed depigmenting agents — kojic acid, azelaic acid, tranexamic acid, retinoids — calibrated to skin type.
Mandelic, lactic or phytic acid peels staged 2–4 weeks apart. Epidermal stimulation without inflammation.
Only when skin is conditioned and stable. Low fluence, high-rep picosecond protocol for Indian skin.
Medical & Paediatric Dermatology
Dinaaz is one of the few aesthetic clinics in Bangalore where medical dermatology is practised at the same clinical standard as cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Nazia (MBBS, MD Dermatology) manages a full spectrum of clinical skin diseases — both acute and chronic — alongside the aesthetic procedures the clinic is known for.
Adult medical dermatology
Paediatric dermatology
Dr. Nazia has special training and experience in paediatric skin conditions. Children's skin is physiologically different — thinner barrier, higher surface-to-body-weight ratio — requiring careful dosing and formulation choices that differ significantly from adult protocols.
Medical dermatology consultations at Dinaaz are conducted personally by Dr. Nazia. She holds MBBS and MD Dermatology — the same credentials required in any hospital-based dermatology OPD. Prescription medications, investigations and referrals are provided where clinically indicated.
Women & Men Dermatology Concerns
Women — Skin & Hormonal Concerns
Hormonal fluctuations throughout a woman's life — puberty, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause — have direct and significant effects on skin. Dr. Nazia's approach links dermatological presentation to the underlying hormonal context, ensuring treatment addresses root cause rather than surface symptoms.
Men — Skin Concerns
Evaluate menstrual cycle, OCP use, thyroid, PCOS, reproductive history as part of skin history.
Where indicated — androgens, FSH/LH, thyroid panel, fasting insulin, Vit D, ferritin.
OCP change, spironolactone, isotretinoin, thyroid optimisation — in coordination with treating physician.
Topical protocols + procedures (peels, laser, PRP) layered onto stabilised hormonal management.
